ABSTRACT:
This work discusses the growth of
indigenous firms in Nigeria, problems and prospects(a case study of ajaokuta
steel company limited in kogi state). A hundred and twenty questionnaires were
shared amongst managers of selected indigenous companies in ajaokuta steel
company in kogi state. Interviews and surveys were also conducted.
Primary and secondary data were used
the analysis. Both frequency distribution and regression analysis were used.
It was observed therefore that lack of
constant power supply, poor leadership and high levels of corruption and
insecurity in the country are strong factors responsible for the poor growth of
indigenous firms in Nigeria.
